It's not so often you see a starfish spawning. This common starfish from Scotland was high up on a kelp front, legs arched, to release its spawn in to the water.
The spawn is just visible in this shot. Ideally I should have spent a bit longer during my dive with different lighting to show what was occurring more clearly.
