Great crested newt (Triturus cristatus) - January 2020

Newts have retuned to my garden pond.
Each year I keep a watch for when newts return to my garden pond.
This was just a quick grap shot one evening in early January with the newt just under the waters surface at the side of the pond.
It is a great crested newt (Triturus cristatus), easily identified by its orange stripy feet.
