Each year it gets harder to do well in this completion as the standard and the number of entries gets higher. I won the British macro category in the 2015 completion with a shot of the same tiny crustacean, the amphipod (Impimedia obese), This time I felt I needed a different take. Three bugs squeezed together was my creation that caught the judges attention and good enough for Highly Commended.
