Newts (Lissotriton vulgaris) in my garden pond - January 2013
It's earlier than ever this year as Common newts are spotted in early January in my garden pond.
A few smooth/common newts (Lissotriton vulgaris), have appeared from where they have been hiding over the winter and are now in my Worcestershire garden pond. I have not noticed them as early as January before.
This one is a male identified by his jagged crest and spotted sides.
