Crawfish numbers seem to be increasing - July 2018

A lot of divers on the south coast are reporting that they have seen crawfish on their dives. This must be good news. It confirms my own sightings of an increase in numbers of this species, sometimes called the spiny lobster (Palimurus elephas).

This individual was photographed off the beach at Porthkerris, They lack the big claws of a lobster and so are much less photogenic.
